Head of Economics and Librarian take on running challenge

Two members of Headington staff are in the final stages of training for the London Marathon.

For Senior School Head of Economics George Vlachonikolis, it will be his fifth marathon. Mr Vlachonikolis is hoping to record a sub-four-hour time and is also raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the House charity for Cranmer this year.

Anastasia Chitty inspires rowers with Christian message

Oxford University graduate Anastasia Chitty and former president of the OU Women's Boat club spoke at our Boarders' Service on Sunday 4th February. Speaking to over 150 boarders and members of boarding staff, she shared her view that success is much more than what you achieve but who you are and become.

Headington Association members create wreaths

Members of the Headington Association enjoyed a unique, creative, and fabulously festive workshop to make a beautiful Christmas wreath.

Whilst crafting their magnificent wreath masterpieces, everyone enjoyed mulled wine and warm mince pies to fully embrace the festive season. The results speak for themselves… and our thanks go to local florist Petite Fleur who led the workshop.

Julie Etchingham delivers annual Janet Young Memorial Lecture

Headington School welcomed the leading broadcaster Julie Etchingham for this year’s Janet Young Memorial Lecture on Wednesday 22nd November.

Members of the Headington Association gathered to hear Julie’s inspiring lecture on women working in the media, her take on the recent changes in the media landscape, as well as tips for the next generation of journalists. Julie drew on her varied career in journalism and broadcasting to share fascinating anecdotes about co-presenting the ITN News at Ten and moderating the 2015 and 2017 General Election Leaders’ Debates.
