Girls given insight into the poverty trap with Empathy Action event

On Tuesday 27th November, organisation Empathy Action visited Headington to turn the Main Hall into a 'slum'.

Girls worked in 'families' to create paper bags, using a water and flour mix as glue, their hands the glue brush. They needed to sell these bags to shopkeepers to support their families. If someone was ill, the family wouldn’t survive, if they were too slow, they would feel the wrath of the slum lord and his thugs.
